So, following my fearless Kitty in Korea, I have downloaded the mega-cool programme "Skype." It allows me to talk to anyone (with the program) over my computer! Dad let me borrow a microphone, so it's functional as of, well, five minutes ago. Search for the user "Wanderlace" and then let me know when you're hooked up!
Now, once again, I have to weigh the pros of taking my computer around the world with me and pit them against the cons...not having to pay international phone bills could be a major selling point...anyone got an opinion?

PS - Does anyone also have an opinion on why I typed "programme" instead of "program?" I noticed it while proofreading the post... :-P

I *highly* recommend bringing a laptop with you. It sometimes comes in handy when you are in a jam. But then, I'm addicted to mine. Can't wait to talk with you on Skype! :D Also, might you be interested in earning some money when you come visit me in Korea? One of the teachers is taking some time off and they need someone to cover a few of her classes. They pay really well. Interested?
Personally, I think carrying around a laptop for as long as you'll be away would be a drag. I'd want my hand on that sucker all the time, lest it get stolen, and in some places you go to, the chances of that are obviously higher than here. Guess it depends on what your needs are. It'd be nice to have one if you want to take a lot of pictures. And if you don't want to pay crazy phone rates. However, I know a lot of cell carriers provide a really cheap international rate for just a little more per month--might wanna check with T-mobile.
I have skype too!
I just tried to search for you, but it didn't work. Search for me...Ash-a-lee...
We can talk! YAYAYAY! :)
Oh, also, programme...it's infiltrated my spelling too. Then again, I've been spelling things with 's' instead of 'z' as well. Haven't caught on to adding 'u's with my 'o's as in 'colour', but I'm afraid that might be next. Oh England!
